Smoke Damage

In 2020 alone, fire stations across the U.S. responded to a fire every 23 seconds based on data collected by the National Fire Protection Association. This translated to over 12 billion dollars in loss, according to the U.S. Fire Administration, not to mention any other collateral damage.

The most common type of fire damage that occurs in West Hartford, Glastonbury, and nearby cities is kitchen fire damage. Whether it’s faulty wiring, mishandled cooking equipment, or unattended heating appliances, kitchen fires are some of the most frequently reported incidents. Fire damage can also be caused by smoking materials, exposure to chemicals, electronic equipment, lighting systems, arson, appliance defects, and other sources.

While fire safety with all these things is a constant must, these types of hazards aren’t entirely avoidable. When they do occur, our team of IICRC-accredited experts are at your service to clean, repair, and restore your space, whether residential or commercial.

Hiring A Restoration Company After Fire Damage

Fire damages can wreak havoc on your belongings and space if left untreated, or even mishandled during the cleanup and restoration process. If cleanup after a fire is put off, the additional time makes it less likely to recover property and causes overall costs to rise greatly.

Fire damage creates soot that gets on objects. This is difficult to manage as soot materializes at the scene the minute the fire is put out, starting the clock on necessary cleanup. The more it starts to settle and the longer it sits means the deeper it seeps into porous items and surfaces. The quicker you start cleaning up the fire damage will determine if items can still be returned to a usable state.

Depending on the areas that have been damaged, you may also need to consider metal restoration, stain removal, flooring, wood furnishings, paneling and wiring, etc. to help maintain the foundational structure. Any surface can sustain damage from a fire, but it doesn’t mean a total loss.

Why Trust Our Hartford County Fire Damage Specialists?

Consult a fire damage mitigation contractor or technician that specializes in cleanup, repair, and restoration as soon as you can. Your technician should be certified by the IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification) to ensure your space is being treated with the industry standard of care. IICRC-accredited technicians have thorough knowledge, training, and experience to help you navigate the restoration needs of any damaged property. They regularly undergo training to keep up with updates in the IICRC cleanup guidelines.

Our technicians are also connected with general contractors, electricians, and other specialists who will likely play a part in overall restoration. As most restoration costs are covered by your insurance provider, when you work with a fire damage restoration expert like us, we will work directly with your insurance and bill them. Although IICRC guidelines aren’t required, investigators and appraisers that are aware the contractor or company is IICRC-certified can trust that standards are consistently maintained, offering an increased level of protection.

The water damage in my home occurred while I was in the process of selling it. My realtor recommended this company and I was very pleased with their work. We had deadlines to meet for the sale to go through. Maria was very helpful and responded promptly to every call/email that I sent to her. I do not live in the same town where the home is so it was wonderful to have pictures of the damage and repairs as they progressed. I would use them again.
